Guild auditions are open to everyonebring a friend and share your talents on the Guild stage.

If you have a budding acting talent waiting to burst forth, you've come to the right place!
Auditions are held at the Guild Playhouse at 1600 H Street, the corner of H and Dupont. All auditions begin at 7:00 pm unless otherwise noted.
The Guild holds open auditions for each of its plays.
Auditioners will be asked to read from the script. For musicals, auditioners should also prepare a song. Please bring sheet music; accompanist provided.

Forever Plaid

Cast: 4 Men + Orchestra (small combo)
One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers, killed in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was.
Prelude to a Kiss

Peter and Rita, two smart, quirky 20-somethings, meet and quickly fall in love. At their wedding, an old man appears and asks to kiss the bride. When he does, Rita and the old man suddenly switch bodies. Rita, now trapped in the old man’s body, goes to live with his family in Brooklyn, while the old man honeymoons with Peter. The old man revels in his new, young female body, but his attitudes and personality – so different from Rita’s – tip Peter off as to what has happened. Peter tracks down Rita in the old man’s body and together they struggle to switch the bodies back before Rita’s body disappears and old age and illness finish the old man’s body.

The king’s right-hand man Macbeth is prophesized to become king, but when passed over as the successor, Macbeth and his wife take fate into their own hands and leave a trail of blood and bodies in an attempt to take and keep the throne.
The Sensuous Senator

Senator Douglas is running for President on a ‘morality’ platform. When his wife leaves for Chicago, he invites his secretary/lover Veronica over. When she’s not available, he has an escort agency send the voluptuous Fiona. Things get complicated when an elderly congressman and friend locks himself out of his room and asks Sen. Douglas if he can spend the night in his townhome.

A modern retelling of the Faust legend. Joe Boyd is a rabid fan of the hapless Washington Senators. He would do almost anything to see the Senators beat the Yankees for the pennant. The mysterious Mr. Applegate offers him that chance at the price of his soul. Joe Boyd is transformed into Joe Hardy, baseball superstar. He helps the Senators win the pennant and wins his soul back in the process.
