Submit a play for next season
The Bellingham Theatre Guild Play Selection Committee is seeking submissions from prospective directors for our next season. We welcome everyone to submit projects of interest.
Typically, for every season we seek out both large musicals and comedies as well as more intimate dramas and comedies. We have a very diverse audience with a wide range of interest, and we seek to offer plays that will appeal to a broad range. Review the plays we have produced since 1929 to get an idea of the types of work BTG produces and which shows we’ve done recently:
We typically do our opening show in late September to early October. Our holiday show opens the day after Thanksgiving and runs for three weekends. Our winter show is usually late January to early February. The spring show varies, with dates from March through May; the committee will make final decisions on that depending on whether there is a special show or festival also included. Our season closer is typically in June and sometimes goes as late as mid-July.
Deadlines and Selection Process
All submissions are due via the online form by December 1, with accompanying scripts and support materials due by December 8. The committee will read all proposals and scripts and will then schedule interviews with directors for projects of interest in early Winter. We typically make a decision on our next season by late Winter or early Spring.
You may submit up to three proposals for the upcoming season. All proposals must be made via the online form; two copies of each script must also be mailed or delivered to BTG (see below).
