Ten strangers are summoned to a remote island. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they’re unwilling to reveal and a secret that will seal their fate, for each has been marked for murder. As the weather turns and the group is cut off from the mainland, the bloodbath begins and one by one they are brutally murdered in accordance with the lines of a sinister nursery rhyme.
All characters listed are open to actors of all racial backgrounds and types. Ages listed are “acting ages.” We will do cold readings from the script.
FRED NARRACOTT (male, 30+) A nice man from the mainland who runs the boat carrying guests and supplies to and from the island. Small role.
ANTHONY MARSTON (male, early 20’s) Young, handsome, privileged, rich, entitled, brash, and spoiled. Not very intelligent. Aristocratic English accent.
VERA CLAYTHORN (female, mid-late 20’s, early 30’s) A fashionable girl, with a cool, collected temperament. English accent.
PHILLIP LOMBARD (male, 30’s) Served as a mercenary soldier in Africa. An attractive, man with a touch of the adventurer about him. English accent.
DR. ARMSTRONG (male, 40’s) A fussy. Intelligent, but easily led. English accent.
WILLIAM BLORE (male, 40’s+) A brash, suspicious man who used to be a police inspector. A poor South African accent, and an English working class accent.
THOMAS ROGERS (male, 45+) A competent manservant. Dutiful, suspicious, and shifty. Working class English accent.
ETHEL ROGERS (female, 45+) Thomas’ wife, serves as cook and temporary housekeeper. She is a worried, frightened-looking woman. Working class accent.
EMILY BRENT (female, 60+) Spinster with a disagreeable, suspicious face. She is overly pious, bigoted, disdainful, and judgmental. English accent.
SIR LAWRENCE WARGRAVE (male, 50-60+) A recently retired judge, intelligent, shrewd, and methodical. English accent.
GENERAL ARTHUR MACKENZIE (male, 70+) A soldierly old man with a gentle, tired face. English accent.
