Auditions: The Royal Society of Antarctica
This Audition: December 4 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Sunday and Monday, repeating until December 5, 2022
Director: Sean Walbeck firstname.lastname@example.org 360-647-9242
Audition dates: December 4 & 5, 2022
Performance dates: January 27, 2023-February 12, 2023
Auditioners will do “cold” readings from the script (cold, cuz Antarctica, get it?), some movement, so wear something you can move in.
Actor demands: Some movement/dancing, comfort with intimacy/on-stage dressing, wearing winter gear under hot lights.
All the characters are Americans at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, the largest base in Antarctica, serving as housing and support for most of the scientific missions on the continent. Thus, everyone in the play has a specific job or purpose to justify the great expense in getting them to and/or keeping them on the continent and the actor playing them must embody the ability to perform that job/purpose. The cast can, and should be, as ethnically and racially diverse as America. It’s a funny, human play with funny, human people.
