Typically, BTG produces popular musicals and comedies, as well as dramas and other well-known genres. Our audiences have a wide range of interests, and we seek to offer plays that will appeal to an inclusive crowd. Review the plays we have produced since 1929 to get an idea of the types of work BTG produces and which shows we’ve done recently:

Submitting Scripts and Supporting Materials

The Play Selection Committee needs to read the official Acting Edition of the production you are proposing. No photocopies, digital copies, or different versions of the same play will be accepted. At the end of the review process, your scripts will be returned to you.

The Play Selection Committee loves getting extra information about submitted plays, whether it’s recordings of the music, reviews, design concepts, lists of awards or honors, and whatever you think is appropriate and necessary.

Once you have submitted your proposal online, follow the procedures below for submitting scripts and supporting materials.

By Mail (to arrive on or before Monday December 2, 2024)

In Person

Deliver two (2) Acting Editions of your proposed play in person to the Bellingham Theatre Guild between 5:00 and 7:00 pm on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Note about Perusals

If the musical or play is only available through perusal from the Publisher, you need to confirm with the Play Selection Committee which precise edition of this musical/play you are proposing, so the Committee can secure and evaluate that correct script. Photocopies and synopses are not acceptable.

If you have any questions about the Play Selection Committee, directing a play, or script submission, contact the Vice-President of Production at vprod@bellinghamtheatreguild.com for more information.

Thank you for your interest in directing a play at BTG.
