    Join us for a one-hour orientation and learn the ins and outs of the Bellingham Theatre Guild. We'll have some light refreshments, and we'll walk you through the various opportunities to join up with one of the longest-running community theaters in the country. We'll also tour our historic building.

  • LUYE presents “Exit, Pursued by a Bear”

    LEND US YOUR EARS, the reading series at the Bellingham Theatre Guild, ends this season on a note of dark comic chaos by presenting Lauren Gunderson’s revenge comedy about an abused wife “frying panning” her husband and duct-taping him to a recliner. Exit, Pursued by a Bear will be performed on June 20th at 2:00 pm on the BTG stage.

    The Pay-What-You-Will performance, directed by Rylan MacDonald, takes a Shakespearean stage direction to raucous heights as Nan’s emotional support team (a hairstyling cheerleader and a multi-named stripper) theatrically recreates her husband’s crimes, pours honey all over him and leaves the cabin door open. Funny, dangerous, theatrical, and chock full of dynamic extreme characters, this international hit play kicked off the prolific playwriting career of Lauren Gunderson, the most produced living playwright on professional American stages over the last five years. Exit, Pursued by a Bear will be performed by talented local actors Erin Melanie, Matthew Hull, Olivia Wise, Marcus Bugge-Sholdez, and Ali Salvino contains extremely adult language, graphic descriptions of abuse, and nothing but adult situations.

    LEND US YOUR EARS (with the mission: Good Plays Read Well) produces matinee readings with local actors in front of the curtains, with general admission seating and the audience choosing what it wants to pay. No reservations necessary.
