    Auditions: Groundhog Day: The Musical

    BTG is holding open auditions for Groundhog Day: The Musical.

    Open Auditions: September 27 & 28 | 7:00 pm
    Callbacks by invitation: September 29 | 7:00 pm

    This musical will have 20 roles for actors aged 18-60+. Be prepared to sing 60 seconds (or one verse and chorus) of a contemporary pop/rock Broadway song in front of the creative team; piano accompaniment or a
    bluetooth speaker will be available for backing tracks. A dance call will be conducted once everybody has sung. Close toed shoes highly recommended as well as tap shoes if you have them; all auditions will be
    considered regardless of tap experience. All roles will dance or otherwise move; comfortability moving and dancing is a plus, dress prepared for movement. We are actively seeking talent of all races, ethnicities, and gender identities.

    Phil Connors, a seasoned big-city weatherman, is frustrated to be to reporting the annual Groundhog Day Ceremony in small town Punxsutawney, PA. His cynicism is in direct opposition to the cheery townsfolk, who
    are ready for their favorite Groundhog to not see his shadow and welcome an early spring. After disdainfully covering the rodent's negative forecast, he awakens the next day only to discover it's February 2 once more. Will Phil accept that he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over again? Or will he find the courage to change himself and his fate?

    Warnings: Some adult language, death, gunshots, smoke effects, flashing lights, suicidal ideation/attempts, and sexual assault (man attempts to kiss woman)

    Show runs November 27 through December 13, please come prepared to note any conflicts.

    Join us for a one-hour orientation and learn the ins and outs of the Bellingham Theatre Guild. We'll have some light refreshments, and we'll walk you through the various opportunities to join up with one of the longest-running community theaters in the country. We'll also tour our historic building.

    New Prospect Theatre 207 Prospect St, Bellingham, WA, United States

    BTG Satellites, the off-site small production partnership with the Bellingham Theatre Guild and New Prospect Theatre, presents Family Furniture, A. R. Gurney’s clear-eyed coming-of-age story of that certain summer in the 1950s when everything shifts for one particular family. One of the gems in Gurney’s body-of-work exploring WASP culture in America, Family Furniture will be performed at the New Prospect Theatre from November 12-22, 2026, with 7:30pm evening performances and 2pm matinees on Sundays, with tickets at $15, and available at New Prospect Theatre via ThunderTix.

    Directed by Gregory Berry of Outsiders Inn, Family Furniture takes us to the gin and tonics, vichyssoise, and tennis doubles of Buffalo's summer scene, where siblings Nick and Peggy must confront their mother's possible infidelity, their father's apparent indifference, and their own increasingly complicated love lives. Equal parts nostalgic, funny and heart-breaking, Family Furniture unfolds with Gurney’s characteristically clear-eyed observations of the human capacity for surviving the amazing, unlikely and sometimes painful consequences of life with a stoic smile on one’s face. Containing adult language and adult situations, Family Furniture will be performed by talented local actors.

    BTG SATELLITES is a partnership between the Bellingham Theatre Guild and the New Prospect Theatre, to produce theater outside the confines of the BTG. All performances are at the New Prospect Theatre, 207 Prospect Street, Bellingham WA, and advance ticket purchases are always encouraged.
