Auditions: “Turbo Cyrano,” A BTG Satellites production

March 30 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

BTG Satellites, the Bellingham Theatre Guild’s low-budget production company presenting plays at the New Prospect Theatre, presents director/playwright Sean Walbeck’s “hasty” adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s classic as TURBO CYRANO: Swift Poetic d’Bergeracy, and that show needs actors and crew! Auditions for TURBO CYRANO will occur March 30 at 6:30-9pm at New Prospect Theatre, with cold readings from the script, light movement exercises, and a talent portion.

TURBO CYRANO: Swift Poetic d’Bergeracy attempts to contain Edmond Rostand’s 5-act Epic Romance into a dense 90-minute play, using theatre tricks, casting adventurism, beautiful words and actions with pure unadulterated speed! All the feels – none of the wait-time! A BTG Satellites production, TURBO CYRANO performs at New Prospect Theatre May 14-24.

Actors interested in TURBO CYRANO can prepare by:
(1) familiarizing yourselves with this famous work ahead of time, by either watching a filmed version or reading the widely available script;
(2) bring in all known conflicts for the April-May rehearsal period (likely evening rehearsals) and performance window (evenings and matinees);
(3) be ready to read ANY character (eyeglasses if you need ‘em) and move (which means dress for movement);
and (4) should prepare a 30-second talent to show off. Important skills are verbal dexterity, endurance, and takes direction well. It is possible that every actor will play any and every part at some time in this production, so all ages, genders, ethnicities, and body types will be considered. As such, we’re looking for a chorus of great actors who can work well together. Auditioners will audition together; be ready to play.

Anybody interested in crew is welcome to attend. Any questions can be sent to the Director/Adapter Sean Walbeck at sean@gigglewax.com; put TURBO CYRANO in the subject heading.
