-or- Holmes for the Holidays
By Ken Ludwig
Auditions: October 1 and 2, 2023
Performances: November 24 - December 10, 2023
Director: Teri Grimes
About the show: It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of holiday revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it's up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the holidays.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, and some improvisational games. Parts are available for 5 W ages mid-twenties to mid-seventies, 3 M ages mid-thirties to mid-sixties.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Text by John Cameron Mitchell
Music and lyrics by Stephen Trask
Directed by Joe Urdiales
September 22 - October 8, 2023
Adult language, sexually suggestive material, references to abuse, strobe lights
Tony award-winning Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of "internationally ignored song stylist" Hedwig Schmidt, an East German rock 'n roll goddess. Her outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is dazzlingly performed by Hedwig in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine backed by the hard-rocking band "The Angry Inch." Hedwig describes her painful past and her life's search for "The Origin of Love" and her other half. It's a rocking ride, funny, touching, and ultimately inspiring to anyone who has felt life gave them an inch when they deserved a mile.

Prospective Directors Q&A Pizza Party
Directors! Are you hoping to direct a show at the Bellingham Theatre Guild next season? Come to this year’s Prospective Directors Q&A Pizza Party and learn all about it! We will be discussing the proposal process, what kinds of things we look for in terms of building a season, and what makes for a strong submission. We will present potential season calendars so you can start making plans. We will (try to) answer any questions you may have about what directing at BTG involves. This a great chance to meet other directors, BTG Board members and connect with folks interested in Assistant Directing. And we’ll be serving pizza and a variety of beverages!
The event will be held in the Reception Room at the Guild Playhouse – 1600 H Street, on Saturday October 7th at 2:00 pm. New and returning directors are encouraged to attend. Hope to see you there!
