LUYE presents “The Book Club Play,” a play reading
LEND US YOUR EARS, the reading series at the Bellingham Theatre Guild, presents Karen Zacarias’ gentle comedy about a book club being filmed for a documentary. The Book Club Play follows lovers of books caught up in a drama they didn’t expect, finding laughs, love and literature along the way and will be staged on April 11, 2026, at 2pm on the BTG stage.
The Pay-What-You-Will performance, directed by Terry Sacks, shows local small-town newspaper columnist Ana arranging an award-winning documentary film crew into her book club, creating the unexpected consequences being captured on film. Mischief, romance, and challenging new reads rock the order, and hilarity ensues. The Book Club Play will be performed by talented local actors and contains adult language and adult situations.
LEND US YOUR EARS (with the mission: Good Plays Read Well) produces matinee readings with local actors in front of the curtains, with general admission seating and the audience choosing what it wants to pay. No reservations necessary.
