Events for November 12, 2026

BTG Satellites presents Family Furniture by A. R. Gurney. One of the gems in Gurney’s body-of-work exploring WASP culture in America, Family Furniture will be performed at the New Prospect Theatre from November 12-22, 2026, with 7:30pm evening performances and 2:00pm matinees on Sundays, with tickets at $15, and available via the New Prospect Theatre website

Directed by Gregory Berry of Outsiders Inn, this is the clear-eyed story of that certain summer in 1950s Buffalo, New York, when everything shifts for one particular family. Family Furniture explores the roiling troubles of WASP culture in mid-century America. Amid the gin and tonics, vichyssoise, and tennis doubles of Buffalo’s summer scene, siblings Nick and Peggy must confront their mother’s possible infidelity, their father’s apparent indifference, and their own increasingly complicated love lives. Family Furniture is Gurney’s incisive portrait of humans trying to human, a thoughtful coming-of-age tale where we find that adulting is hard and everybody has to do their part. The play contains adult language and adult situations.

BTG SATELLITES is a partnership between the Bellingham Theatre Guild and the New Prospect Theatre, to produce theater outside the confines of the BTG. All performances are at the New Prospect Theatre, 207 Prospect Street, Bellingham WA, and advance ticket purchases are always encouraged.

FAMILY FURNITURE is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, serving the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)
