LA CAGE AUX FOLLES
Book by Harvey Fierstein
Music & Lyrics by Jerry Herman
Based on the play by Jean Poirer
Directed by Zoe Bronstein & Kathy Peacock Duncan
September 7-23, 2018
After twenty years of un-wedded bliss, Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better or worse, get a bit of both when Georges' son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician. Further complicating the situation is the “family business”: Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the star performer “Zaza.” Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as "normal" when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.
Adult subject matter, Sexually suggestive situations, Parental discretion advised.
"La Cage aux Folles" is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

Volunteer Introduction
Come join our family of volunteers…we have fun while we get the work done! There are lots of great opportunities to put your experience to use and to learn new skills. This informative 1-hour meeting, which occurs every third Saturday of the month, will introduce you to the BTG mission and our historic building and will get you off on the right foot.
Lend Us Your Ears Reading Series: Eleemosynary by Lee Blessing
LEND US YOUR EARS, the reading series at the Bellingham Theatre Guild, starts its second season with Lee Blessing’s Eleemosynary on September 15 at 2:00 pm.
The Pay-What-You-Will performance, directed by Suzy Willhoft, follows the fractured relationships of three generations of women coming together at a moment of personal crisis. Produced throughout the US for the last thirty years, this exploration of language and family features local actors Terry Sacks, Lindsay Anderson, and Alexandra Farkas. Eleemosynary (the word means charitable) contains some adult language and adult situations.
LEND US YOUR EARS (with the mission: Good Plays Read Well) produces matinee readings with local actors in front of the curtains, with general admission seating and the audience choosing what it wants to pay.
Eleemosynary is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. New York.
